BIOGRAPHY

Hi! I’m Jacqueline Murphy, an award-winning actress, director, writer and filmmaker passionate about telling inspiring, magical, and meaningful stories.

My latest fantasy TV series, Sorceress of Hollywood (2025), has been such a joy to create. It won Best Fantasy Film on the festival circuit and earned five Telly Awards for Best Film, Directing, Acting, Cinematography, and Social Media Video.

Before that, I created, starred in, produced, and directed the multi-award-winning series The Admired, which has collected 50+ film festival awards worldwide and was featured on the FYC Emmy® nomination ballot.

You can also catch me bringing heart and humor to the comedy series Business People as“Nina,” a cheerful HR consultant. I was honored to be on the FYC 2025 Emmy® ballot for Outstanding Performer in a Short Form Comedy/Drama, and the series was up for Outstanding Short Form Comedy or Drama Series.

I love connecting with creative communities. I’m now in my second year moderating the Television Academy’s Performers Peer Circle, and I also host my own show, Entertainment with Jacqueline Murphy, which was on the FYC 2025 Daytime Emmy® ballot for Daytime Special and Daytime Personality.

Over the years, I’ve interviewed Hollywood icons like Jennifer Lopez, Jon Voight, and Sheryl Lee Ralph for Entertainment Today, written industry pieces for Entertainment and Sports Today, AFM, and Digital Hollywood, and shared my travel diaries from adventures across Africa, Asia, Europe, and Australia.

Honored twice as a New York “Power Woman” by the NY State Assembly & Schneps Media, I’m passionate about empowering women in film and using storytelling to uplift and inspire.

My journey started in New York City, acting in films with legendary directors like Martin Scorsese, Woody Allen, and Mike Nichols, before expanding into writing and directing my own work.

I’m also a Registered Nurse (BSN) and deeply committed to shining a light on healing and hope. My upcoming feature, Yellowbird and the Titan, draws from real-life experiences with the opioid crisis to spark change and compassion.

NEW PROJECTS: “Yellowbird and the Titan: Opioid Daze” a feature film based on a personal story, of a 22 year old Registered Nurse at NY Presbyterian-Cornell Medical Center in the 1990’s when opioids were hitting the market “big time”.

“Daisy’s Adventures” produce & written by Jacqueline Murphy & Schirete Zick. A comedy starring & directed by Jacqueline Murphy as “Daisy Maisy” a middle aged woman adventures through life trying to navigate the modern day world as a single women with old fashioned values.

“Racing to the Hamptons” a feature film that’s a “coming of age” story about growing up on Long Island in the 70’s & 80’s. A time when disco’s, raceways, roller rinks, Fire Island and the Hamptons was the place to be.

Through all my projects, from fantasy to real-life inspiration, my mission is to create stories that move hearts, open minds, and remind us all that magic and meaning can be found everywhere.
